Introduction
Oval gear flowmeters are highly precise instruments used for the
continuous measurement of liquid flow in pipelines. They offer
various advantages, including a wide measuring range, low pressure
loss, adaptability to high viscosity, the capability to measure
high-temperature liquids, convenient calibration, and easy
installation. As representative products in the positive
displacement flowmeter category, oval gear flowmeters play a
crucial role in accurately measuring liquid flows.
The LC series oval gear flowmeter is equipped with an on-site
pointer display and a word wheel cumulative counting device. This
configuration allows for the direct display of the cumulative flow
of liquid passing through the pipeline. Specifically designed for
metering refined oil products, it is extensively employed in
industries such as petroleum, chemicals, chemical fiber,
transportation, commerce, food, medicine, health, and more. It
facilitates precise flow measurement of non-corrosive media in
diverse applications.
Usage
LC-A type cast iron oval gear flow meter, widely used in all kinds
of oil products and for the measurement of the cast iron material
not corrosion liquid medium.
LC-E type cast steel oval gear flow meter, Used for high pressure,
low corrosive medium measurement.
LC-Q type cast iron oval gear flow meter, The rotor for aluminum
alloy, is suitable for low viscosity, low corrosion, such as
gasoline, etc.) the measurement of liquid medium.
LC-B, C type stainless steel oval gear flow meter, widely used in
strong corrosive liquid medium, such as acid, alkali, salt and
organic compounds, the measurement of liquid medium.
LC-L type Aluminum alloy oval gear flow meter, is a small oval gear
flow meter, widely used in low corrosive liquid medium, such as
water, such as the measurement of liquid medium.

Note: If the temperature of the metered liquid is higher than 80℃.
the maximum flow fate will be 90% of the primary flow, and the
minimum will be 120%.
Installation and Operation
- A strainer should be installed in front of the meter, and be sure
that the arrows on the casting of the meter and the strainer
pointing the same direction of the liquid flow.
- If the metered media contains gas, a gas separator should be
installed in front of the meter.
- Whether the pipe line is vertically or horizontally installed, the
wheel’s shaft of the meter must be fixed horizontal, that is, the
dial is vertical to the surface.
- While the meter is installed properly, the counter may be turned
180°or 90°for easy reading.
- Prior to the installation of the new meter, first push the oval
wheels from the outlet for several times with a bamboo rod, if the
wheels don’t move, they can be immersed in the petrol to prevent
from deposits in the meter after the factory’s inspection.
- A throttle valve must be fixed at the inlet of the meter, an on-off
valve at the outlet, which must be slowly activated to prevent from
a sudden impact, reverse flow, and water hammer.
- It is forbidden to clean the meter with steam.
- For the continuous operated departments, a by-pass should be
mounted.
- Prior to the installation of the meter, the pipe line must be
thoroughly cleaned,and at the time of cleaning use a straight
pipeline in stead of the meter,to prevent impurity,welding residue
from entering the meter.
- It is forbidden to inspect the meter made of cast iron and cast
steel using water.
- During the operated of the meter the flow rate can’t exceed the
flow marked on the mamelon plate. It is preferable to operate the
meter at 50—80% of the max. flow.
- If the metered media is causticity,stainless steel shall be
selected.
