(1) Ensure that the sensor is perpendicular to the medium surface.
(2) Avoid the transmitting beam from irradiating interference objects and generating false echoes.
See the following for typical working conditions:
A radar level sensor makes use of the time domain reflection (TDR) principle. In this method, an electromagnetic pulse is sent through a cable or probe and propagates at the speed of light. Whenever the pulse reaches the surface of the substance being measured, a portion of it is reflected back to create an echo that returns to the transmitter through the exact same path. The distance between the transmitter and the surface of the measured medium is calculated as proportional to the propagation time of the pulse, leading to a conclusion about the height of the level.
The radar level meter operates on a simple principle but is highly effective. This approach employs electromagnetic radiation to compute the distance from the sensor to the surface of the measured material and infer the height of the level. The TDR principle governs the operation of the radar level sensor.
To determine the level of a liquid or solid substance, the radar level sensor emits a pulse that travels through a cable or probe at the speed of light. This pulse bounces back when it hits the surface of the subject being measured, and the time taken for the pulse to return to the transmitter is used to determine the level of the substance. This is the principle of radar level sensing.
Summary:
A radar level sensor is based on the principle of time domain reflection (TDR) to determine the height of a substance being measured. The pulse that is sent through a cable or probe bounces back when it encounters the surface of the measured material, and the time it takes to return to the transmitter is used to calculate the level. The TDR principle governs the operation of a radar level sensor.
